Firefighters sit and watch home burn
Imagine your home catches fire but the local fire department won’t respond, then watches it burn. That’s exactly what happened to a local family tonight.
A local neighborhood is furious after firefighters watched as an Obion County, Tennessee, home burned to the ground.
The homeowner, Gene Cranick, said he offered to pay whatever it would take for firefighters to put out the flames, but was told it was too late. They wouldn’t do anything to stop his house from burning. Each year, Obion County residents must pay $75 if they want fire protection from the city of South Fulton. But the Cranicks did not pay.
The mayor said if homeowners don’t pay, they’re out of luck.
Firefighters did eventually show up, but only to fight the fire on the neighboring property, whose owner had paid the fee.

This makes me really mad, by the way. I would be ashamed to be called a firefighter if I allowed this to happen to anyone.
That is the worst dereliction of duty I have ever seen in my entire life!! I don’t give a rats ass who’s decision it was to not respond! Every single one of those cowardly fuck ups should be stripped of their uniforms and NEVER allowed to serve on a department again! And that useless excuse of a chief should be charged with a felony, what if there would have been someone in the house? Does this mean that capital murder charges would have been waved as well over 75 fucking dollars??!!!!
I am so pissed about this one,I’m going to email that department as soon as I’m done here. Thanks for posting this one, this is info that needs to be known!
Weird thats a policy , but doubt the ff’s like this policy because i know when that alarm calls structure fire engine only its on!
